OUR STORY
A Small Home With a Long History of Caring
April House has been caring for seniors in Marysville since 2006. Viola knew the home long before she became its owner — she had already worked there and considered it the nicest Adult Family Home she had ever worked in.
When the previous owner retired, Viola chose to purchase April House and continue what had already made the home special, while bringing her own 30+ years of caregiving experience and hands-on approach into its future.
Support Built Around the Person
CARE & SERVICES
April House provides personalized support based on each resident’s individual needs, routines, abilities and care plan. Care may include memory support, daily living assistance, medication management and coordination with outside healthcare providers.
End-of-Life & Hospice Care
Compassionate end-of-life support, including End-of-Life Doula care and coordination with families, hospice providers and healthcare professionals, with a focus on dignity, comfort and familiar surroundings.
Dementia & Alzheimer’s Care
Experienced, personalized support for residents living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, with an emphasis on safety, consistency, patience and familiar routines.
Daily Living Assistance
Support with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, transfers and other daily needs based on each resident’s individual care plan.
Medication Management
Medication management based on each resident’s care plan, provider orders and applicable Washington State requirements, with coordination as needed.
Diabetes Care
Support for residents with diabetes based on their individual care plan, medical direction and overall daily care needs.
Healthcare Coordination
Coordination with physicians, home health, hospice, pharmacies and other healthcare providers to help keep each resident’s care connected and consistent.
April House is committed to being a home through changing care needs, including the final chapter of life. When needs can be safely supported, residents can remain surrounded by familiar faces, routines and the comforts of home.
Life Here Is More Than a Care Schedule
Residents still have their own routines, favorite foods, interests and ways they like to spend the day. At April House, daily life is shaped around the individual — not a rigid schedule.
There may be live piano music or a cabaret singer visiting the home, popcorn and a movie, bingo, holiday celebrations, time outside on the back porch or patio, or simply a quieter day at home.
Residents can also enjoy visiting professional hair and nail services, live piano and musical entertainment, pet therapy and animal visits. April House has a house cat, welcomes visiting dogs, and has even hosted llamas in the past.
Meals are prepared in the home with an emphasis on familiar, homestyle American cooking, with special diets accommodated based on each resident’s needs and provider recommendations.

April House is a five-bedroom, three-bathroom home licensed for six residents. Private and shared bedroom arrangements are available depending on current openings, along with private and shared bathroom options.
The home is designed to feel comfortable and familiar, with classic décor, welcoming common areas, and accessibility features that support residents with mobility needs.

MEET VIOLA
More Than 30 Years of Caring for Older Adults
Viola Mirzaei-Nejad began caring for elderly people at just 16 years old in West Virginia and has now been a Certified Nursing Assistant for more than 30 years.
Her experience is also deeply personal. Viola spent seven years caring for her own grandmother, which gave her firsthand understanding of what families go through when someone they love begins needing daily care.
Today, Viola remains a hands-on owner who stays closely involved with residents, caregivers, and families. The values she grew up with in West Virginia — faith, family, hard work, hospitality, integrity, compassion, and respect for elders — continue to shape the way she leads April House.

FAMILY INVOLVEMENT
Families are encouraged to visit, stay involved, and remain part of their loved one’s everyday life and care. Open communication between April House, residents, families, and outside healthcare providers is an important part of making sure each resident receives thoughtful, coordinated support.
Visits are encouraged. Families are kept informed, involved, and welcome to be part of daily life at April House.
